The No.11 raw sugar futures traded between 16.3-16.6c/lb over the past week. Commercial participants and speculators have added to their positions minimally. The No.5 futures curve has strengthened.

New York No.11 Raw Sugar Futures

The raw sugar futures traded between 16.3-16.6c/lb over the past week but hit a low of 16.1c/lb on Tuesday. 

On the commercial side, producers have closed out just under 1.5k lots of short positions while end-users have opened 1.1k lots of long positions.

No.11 Commitment of Traders Report (July 1, 2025)

Speculators have added to their long position by 1.1k lots of longs and have further added 377 lots to their short position. 

The speculative net short position has changed minimally and now stand at -132.2k lots. 

No.11 Open interest

The No. 11 forward curve has strengthened from Oct’25 to Mar’27 but weakened across the remainder of the board. 

London No.5 Refined Sugar Futures

The No.5 refined sugar futures traded between USD 475.7-483.7/tonne throughput the week, hitting a high of USD 492.5/tonne. 

No.5 Open Interest

The No.5 refined sugar futures curve has strengthened across the board, with the exception of Dec’26. 

White Premium (Arbitrage)

The V/V white premium started at USD 99.4-100.1/tonne over the past week.
