Sugar – Raws stray back towards the uptrend again

NY’s weekend stab at the nearby H&S top has unraveled again early this week as the Dollar bids to take a next step up and the B-Berg is ailing as Crude (Brent) dices with its $84.2 mid band. Ergo the uptrend is feeling the spotlight once more (23.52) here and still looks an essential prop to try to maintain the attempt to shrug off a summer correction and get back on the broader ‘20’s upside track.

Sugar: Shoring up uptrend catch proving tricky while Dollar shows strength

‘Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…’ Though not finding instant traction, the Dollars’ lunge at the 103’s undermined NY’s stab at the recent H&S and led to an inside day Monday. So, while gathering in aboard the uptrend last week, it would be premature it seems to conclude that the trendline was ironclad and it must remain under watch (23.50).

Sugar: Uptrend making headway against recent head & shoulders top

Somebody was waving a ‘Trend is your friend’ sign this week as the continuation uptrend and its lower Bollinger band rear guard have managed to fend off a small H&S breakdown, NY punching back into the top and over the mid band Friday.

Sugar: Trend Holding But Mid Band Still Blocking

Seems the Producer and Choreographer have decided that for maximum tension the battle between the uptrend (23.45) and H&S / mid band (24.00/24.18) needs to persist, the latter more the feature Thursday in keeping the lid on.

Sugar: Yo-heave-ho But The Trend Keeps Holding

All hands on deck were still keeping the spot uptrend intact Wednesday (23.40) as NY tries to reorient itself in the wake of suffering a new (mainly) Jly H&S. Can’t claim a full blown restoration yet as the market must jolt back over its mid band (24.17) to dispel the top and make a more persuasive return to the up-track.

Sugar: Uptrend Creaking Under The Strain

Still waiting to resolve the contest between the ’23 uptrend and the recent Q3 H&S before taking focus off the continuation chart of NY. The trend was fraying Tuesday but just about hung in there (23.40), the lower Bollinger now acting as rear guard (23.36).

Sugar: Mid Term Uptrend Squares Off Against New Head & Shoulders Top

Sticking with the spot continuation chart of NY currently as, sure enough, the combo of lower Bollinger band and ’23 uptrend (23.42/23.36) came to the rescue initially to temper Fridays’ drop out of a small new H&S. Not a full scale repair in one session though as the market stayed hemmed in under the top so this is very much a work in progress.

Sugar: Small New Head & Shoulders Has Raws Teetering

A one-off deference to the spot continuation chart for NY Friday as it provisionally broke down from a nearby H&S pattern. No question this top highlights the fading of the post Jly-contract resurgence but since the Dollar has suffered a bit of a hiccup, the spot price series insists on watching the overall ’23 uptrend that is all but arm in arm with the lower Bollinger band (23.33/23.25).
